Versatile

There have been some amazing players in football history who played a different position before switching and discovering their primary position, notably Devin Hester, Julian Edelman, Richard Sherman, JJ Watt, Dante Hall, and a slew of others. Having said that, the same can be said about Texas Southern University running back Jacorey Howard. The agile and powerful athlete known for plowing over opposing teams' defensive players on Saturdays for TSU also played a variety of positions at Aldine High School. Jacorey, who played running back, outside linebacker, and quarterback, was keen to play any position to help his team win. Even though Jacorey excelled at quarterback and outside linebacker, he was a sight to behold when he took the field as a running back. Opposing teams' defenders had no choice but to take their vitamins, eat their Wheaties, and pray they could tackle or even come close to stopping him.

The same is true today; if you see number 23 coming towards you at full speed, you should  brace yourself for contact or get out of the way. Standing at 6'1" and weighing 224 pounds, this man is virtually a runaway freight train heading directly for you with the primary goal of going through you and scoring a touchdown. Last season, Jacorey had 221 yards and seven touchdowns, and I have no doubt that as part of this explosive TSU offense, those figures will more than increase. Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me". When you put God first, anything is possible. Throughout his football career, he has consistently placed God first and has been blessed to excel at that sport he loves dearly. This upcoming season for Texas Southern University football will be one to remember, and Jacorey Howard and his teammates are on a mission to prove the doubters wrong.
