Ed Reed, like Deion Sanders, was a once-in-a-lifetime athlete who will never be replicated. Ed Reed has gained a wealth of knowledge from his time as an assistant defensive back coach for the Buffalo Bills and as chief of staff for his alma mater, the University of Miami. This knowledge has prepared him very well for his new role at Bethune-Cookman. Following a 2-6 record last season, it was evident that this football program required someone to inject energy and lay a foundation for success. Coach Reed will undoubtedly bring a breath of fresh air to a program seeking to regain its former dominance in the early part of the decade. It was an excellent choice for Bethune-Cookman, and I expect great things to come from it in the near future.
