Something To Prove

If you haven't noticed, the Texas Southern University football team is on the rise and set to make some noise this season. Demontario Anderson, a defensive lineman, is one of the key players responsible for this progress. He has been a member of the TSU football team since 2017 and has seen several highs and lows, but all of this has made him a stronger athlete and individual. With the departure of so many key defensive players such as Michael Badejo, Tim Walton Jr., Josh Murray, Chrishon Frazier, Drew Robinson, and Marquis Walker, it is only right that Demontario assumes the leadership role that he is suited for. Demontario, who had 38 tackles and 2 sacks in 2021, will be hungry to outdo those stats and have a stellar season this autumn.

Demontario, who is in his final season at TSU, has a strong chance of winning the SWAC Defensive Player of the Year award. This summer, he assessed his strengths and weaknesses and worked daily to improve them. Future NFL Hall of Famer JJ Watt stated, "Success isn't owned - it's leased. And rent is due every day. Every single day, someone's coming for your job. Someone's coming for your greatness. If you're the greatest, someone wants to be the greatest, and so if you're not constantly improving your game, somebody else is." This quote represents Demontario because he attacks every day with unparalleled determination, and no matter what happens around him, he will accomplish greatness. Attending several spring practices this summer, one thing stayed consistent: I wouldn't want to be an opposing offensive lineman this season because you're going to be in for a long day. Keep an eye on this talented football player and don't be shocked if he brings home a lot of hardware this fall.
