Diamonds are formed in pressure; that is why God allows you to go through difficult times. Texas Southern University running back Kevin Harris has had his share of ups and downs, but he never complained or gave up; instead, he became stronger and turned into an excellent football player and an even better person. People are constantly amazed by a person's success, but they don't understand what it took for this person to achieve greatness. Kevin had many restless nights before becoming one of TSU's premier running backs. Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, this talented football player's path was not paved with gold; he put blood, sweat, and tears into his craft and the sport he loves dearly.
He lost his father when he was six years old, and his mother raised him and his siblings with the support of his great grandmothers. This fueled Kevin's desire to reach for the stars, and no obstacle could deter him .Football became an escape for him from what was going on around him, and from Thornwood High School to Texas Southern University, he demonstrated skills that many would desire. Moving from Chicago to Texas in 2018 was a major step for him, but he maintained his faith and love for the game. Although he was in a new location, his focus remained constant, and his ultimate aim was to make the TSU football team. When it came time for him to try out for the TSU football team, he nailed it. Unfortunately, the previous TSU coaching staff was fired, and in steps Head Coach Clarence McKinney. Despite a significant shift in coaches, Kevin was still given the opportunity, and the rest is history. This man can do it all at the running back position, from receiving to being a dynamic ball carrier. Two of the ladies who were essential in his upbringing have passed, but I know they would be extremely proud of the man and football player he has become. I pray he has nothing but success in the upcoming season.
