If you go back to the preseason, many people predicted that Ja'Marr Chase would be a bust and that he wouldn't live up to the hype. Ja'Marr Chase has silenced the critics after adjusting and becoming comfortable with his new team. He not only hushed his critics, but he also made them eat their words by catching 79 passes for 1,429 yards and 13 touchdowns. With 266 yards and three touchdowns in Week 17, he set a new single-game receiving record for Cincinnati, and his 13 touchdowns in his rookie season put him in elite company.
Paired with his former LSU teammate Joe Burrow, they are a match made in heaven. They feed off each other's energy and dazzle fans with their spectacular performances. We may have the next great quarterback and wide receiver duo on our hands if these two tremendous athletes stay healthy. The Cincinnati Bengals have a fantastic young core and the right mix of players, which is a major factor why they won the AFC North division this season. Ja'Marr has a bright career ahead of him, and it appears like he will make the most of it. His impressive rookie season has sparked several comparisons to former players. To be honest, he could be a different breed of wide receiver that we haven't seen yet.
