Versatile

In basketball, the point guard serves as the orchestrator, ensuring that his teammates are in the proper positions and regulating the flow of the offense and defense. Fred Thomas excels at this while also bringing his own spin to the game. Some players are terrific on offense, while others are fantastic on defense; however, Fred has the ideal combination of both, and with his 6'5 stature, he can hold the best player on the other team if necessary. In today's game, we've all heard and seen that basketball is positionless; Fred Thomas fits that definition since his defensive talents allow him to play numerous positions while still scoring well.

Fred averaged 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game while playing for the Kongsberg Miners. That same season, he was named the Norwegian BNLO Defensive Player of the Year. He's a nightmare on defense and constantly finds a way to get under his opponent's skin with his relentless defense. His talent has evolved significantly since that fantastic season, and it is on full display this summer at the No Excuses Pro League. Fred plays with grit and intensity, and he is a treat to watch when he's on the basketball court. We frequently overlook defense because of high-scoring games and spectacular plays, but there is no doubt in my mind that Fred Thomas deserves his flowers. He spent many hours in the gym honing his skills, and now he's reaping the fruits of his hard work.

Check out Fred Thomas and Frost Town Elite in the No Excuses Pro League this Friday at 7:40 p.m. as they take on the #1 ranked Houston Flights.
